BAY OF ISLANDS : Northland NZ is a Tender Port – A free shuttle bus will pick  up passengers from tender boats at Waitangi Wharf and take you to the Paihia Village (a few minutes away)
Look for the TOTAL TOURS footpath sign right near the shuttle bus stop. TOTAL TOURS van is white and air conditioned for your comfort.

Join us for a 2 hour Scenic Forest Tour with photo stops. Hear some of the local history and lifestyle stories. Be wowed at the view from the Waitangi lookout seeing out to your cruise ship and the beautiful islands of the Bay.

Travel through native bush and farmland stopping at Haruru Waterfall. Enjoy highlights of the Paihia Village including the Historic Stone Church and beautiful beaches as we head out to see some of NZ’s spectacular native bush and on your 30min walk you will be wowed at the sight of NZ’s ancient Kauri Trees.
Kauri are among the world’s mightiest trees, growing to over 50 mtrs tall, with trunk girths up to 16 mtrs and living for over 2,000 years.

Heading to Kerikeri the citrus capital of NZ, passing by native bush,  forest plantations and beef, sheep & dairy farms.

A visit to the workshop of Romeyn  Woodcrafts family business : showcasing housewares made from native NZ timber:  including  Kauri   one of the world’s mightiest trees, growing to over 50mtrs tall, with trunk girths up to 16mtrs, and living for over 2,000 years.  

On to the Bay of Islands Honey Shop: tasting a variety of honey’s  including NZ’s famous manuka honey.   Venture into NZ’s biggest beehive with the bee-keeper learn how bees make honey & see them at work.

Down to the  Historic Stone Store Mission Station by the Kerikeri River,  Visit NZ’s oldest buildings : Kemp House and the Stone Store –  offering a range of 1800’s authentic goods  and a  quirky range of uniquely New Zealand souvenirs.  Embrace the beauty of this area & the birds that make it their home while hearing about the history of this area.

Marsden Estate Vineyard is our stop for wine tasting & lunch (at your own cost).   Known for the relaxed atmosphere of its courtyard dining space overlooking the lake and vines, with innovative cuisine that showcases the unique flavors of the region. 

Makana Confections Chocolate factory – offering a sample of their hand-made quality confections using only natural ingredients.  See the chocolates being made through the glass wall.  Also offering gelato tastings at their cafe : maybe get one to go. 
Next door venture into the Kauri Workshop & Gifts.

We return via unique horseshoe Haruru Falls & the  Waitangi lookout – with spectacular views of your ship & the islands of the Bay.
Option to drop off at the tender wharf  or  Paihia village should you wish to explore further on foot, before catching one of the shuttles back to the tender boat.

You will enjoy a  scenic drive through native bush & farmland with commentary from our local driver.

Visit Kawiti Glow Worm Cave :  You will be welcomed by incredible rock formations and lush green rain-forest.
On your guided 30min tour through the cave you will see thousands of glow worms surrounded by breath taking stalactites and stalagmites and be amazed by one of New Zealand’s natural wonders.  Learn about the life cycle of the Glow Worm & hear the family story & history.

Returning to Paihia passing by beautiful beaches & historic places leaving time to explore some more or catch your shuttle to the tender.
