BAY OF ISLANDS; Northland NZ is a Tender Port – A free shuttle bus will pick up passengers from tender boats at Waitangi Wharf and take you to the Paihia Village (a few minutes away)
Look for the TOTAL TOURS footpath sign right near the shuttle bus stop. TOTAL TOURS van is white and air conditioned for your comfort.

Travel through native bush and farmland stopping at the unique horseshoe Haruru Waterfall, highlights of the Paihia Village which include the Historic Stone Church and pristine beaches.
Return to your starting point for shopping, exploring or to get your shuttle bus.
SCENIC FOREST TOUR
2 HOURS NZ$60 per adult : $40 per child (5-15yrs) – minimum 4 people
Join us for a 2 hour Scenic Forest Tour with photo stops. Hear some of the local history and lifestyle stories. Be wowed at the view from the Waitangi Golf Club looking out to your cruise ship and the beautiful islands of the Bay.
Travel through native bush and farmland stopping at Haruru Waterfall. Enjoy highlights of the Paihia Village including the Historic Stone Church and beautiful beaches as we head up to the Kauri Forest where you can take an easy (30min return) forest walk to see some of NZ’s unique ancient Kauri Trees.
Kauri are among the world’s mightiest trees, growing to over 50mtrs tall, with trunk girths up to 16 mtrs, and living for over 2,000 years.

We visit the Bay of Islands Honey Shop: tasting a variety of honey’s including NZ’s famous manuka honey Venture into NZ’s biggest beehive, learn how bees make honey & see them at work
Then the Historic Stone Store Mission Station by the Kerikeri River, NZ’s oldest buildings : Kemp House and the Stone Store – offering a range of 1800’s authentic goods and a quirky range of uniquely New Zealand souvenirs.
Marsden Estate Vineyard is our next stop for wine tasting & lunch (at your own cost). Known for the relaxed atmosphere of its courtyard dining space overlooking the lake and vines, with innovative cuisine that showcases the unique flavors of the region
Next Makana Confections Chocolate factory – hand-made quality confections using natural ingredients.
Returning to Paihia we stop at unique horseshoe Haruru Falls.
Return to the tender at Waitangi Wharf or Paihia village should you wish to explore further on foot, before catching one of the shuttles back to the tender boat.
KAWITI GLOW WORM CAVES TOUR
2.5 hours NZ$80 per adult NZ$60 per child (6-15yrs) – Under 5 free

Departing Paihia enjoy a drive through native bush & farmland with commentary from our local driver.
Visit Kawiti Glow Worm Cave : You will be welcomed by incredible rock formations and lush green rainforest.
Take a guided tour through the cave and you will see thousands of glow worms surrounded by breath taking stalactites and stalagmites and be amazed by one of New Zealand’s natural wonders.
